I really do miss traveling. I’m glad I got to do a bit more traveling prior to my move or even during my move. I miss exploring a new city, trying the local favorite foods, and everything else that entails with visiting a new surrounding. The other day I contacted my close friend that recently relocated to Austin, TX to see what she’s been up to and what not. Unfortunately she’s headed back to Japan to handle some personal affairs, so I suppose visiting Austin, TX won’t happen any time soon. I talked to my close friend from back at home and I might join her and our mutual friends in a trip to Portland, OR. I’d love to go to Seattle, but I’ll digress.
Austin, Portland, Seattle and I think Phoenix is on my travel list for this year, but we shall see. I haven’t really explored much of the south or the west coast that much. I want to visit those cities because I would like to try to go somewhere new once a year. My ultimate travel goal is to travel to every state. Of course I’d love to travel somewhere international that isn’t Canada haha. I’d love to visit Japan and S. Korea. For now I just wanna get away for the weekend somewhere other than going to somewhere else in Cali. I’ve even looked at flights to visit home, but I’m gonna wait until the fall. Being in Boston during the fall is absolutely the best. It’s so cozy, you see the foliage, and of course I can actually make use of my peacoat haha.
Maybe I’ll even join my friends from home on their trip to Vancouver. It has been awhile since I’ve been there and it’d be nice to see my friends from there. There’s lots of places I want to just up and go to but once again I am not ballin’ like that ….yet haha. I’ve been spending a lot more time outdoors either running or outside of Starbucks with a book or my laptop since it’s definitely warmed up here this past week. Absorbing all of that vitamin D before I get busy with work, which I’m looking forward to. I suppose I can continue to day dream about it while I enjoy my last weekend of freedom.

I’ve mentioned in an old post how that after I moved to Cali that I’ve definitely started eating a lot more light, clean and fresh. Another one of my new year’s resolutions is to try to go vegetarian for a month, but I’ve decided for the Pescatarian route instead since I do love fish. I already hardly eat beef unless I’m making a certain dish where I think beef would be much more suitable. The only time I’ll have beef is probably if I’m out having a steak or a burger, which isn’t often. For some odd reason as I’ve grown older beef has made me nauseous. It doesn’t matter how the beef is prepared or anything, I felt like tossing my cookies. I’ve grown less fond of chicken since it seems so bland to me. I spent some time browsing at some recipes or ideas of what to try before the start of my lifestyle change. I just hope I don’t get bored and run out of ideas of what to cook.
At the moment I’m trying to finish up the remaining meat I have left in the fridge, which isn’t much. I’ve stocked up my fridge with tons of veggies like usual so that’s nothing out of the ordinary. Also I’ve started drinking green juice again for breakfast, which I do enjoy and it’ll be a better replacement for coffee since I’m trying to cut down. Clearly I’m becoming a health nut over time since I’ve been here, but it’s a good thing. I’m just trying to be much more aware of my own health since I haven’t been taking care of myself as well as I should.
I’m excited to give this Pescatarian thing a try, but not gonna lie I’m gonna miss prime rib and all that good stuff lol. 😦
I used to be a big coffee drinker back in high school and especially college. Over a period of time I strayed away from coffee and became a tea lover. Once again times have changed again. I feel like I’m back at it again like the college days intaking all the coffee I can get. I save money by making coffee at home. What’s even better is that I found this really great coconut flavored creamer. It is sooooo delicious with hazelnut coffee!! I can’t fork out money to go to Starbucks everyday. Dunkin Donuts seriously needs to expand out here in Cali. Oh how I miss the hazelnut or French vanilla iced coffees. Point I’m getting at is due to health reasons and also as a new year’s resolution, I’ve decided to limit myself to one cup of coffee a week and that would be on Mondays. I watch this video blog on YouTube and the guy in it sounds just like me. Big tea lover turned coffee drinker haha. He allows himself to have coffee only on Mondays and calls it “Coffee Mondays”. Cute idea so I thought to myself I might as well do that, too. Kinda hoping my folks will mail me some of my expensive tea I left behind at home. I had this really good jasmine green tea that I would drink quite often. Well not anymore. Anyways, lets see how long this coffee once a week deal lasts.
