Chicago Fun! (April 2013)
I was supposed to post pictures on my Xanga of my 3 day trip to Chicago back in early April of this year. Never got around to posting pictures yet alone uploading pictures up until last week haha. I absolutely miss Chicago. I wouldn’t mind living there one day. It’s like a great combination of Boston and New York but rolled up in one and even better than the two cities combined haha. Ate tons of great food and did lots of site seeing as well. The architecture is so beautiful and amazing! Definitely can’t even compare to New York or even Boston’s buildings at all. If you never been, I definitely recommend checking it out. Thanks again to a Xangan for your suggestions of what to check out in Chicago!! It was very helpful!!
Here’s a list of the restaurants I went to that I suggest you try:
– RPM Italian Restaurant
– Purple Pig
– Girl and the Goat (make reservations in advanced! I was lucky to even get a reservation during my last night in Chicago, which was 11PM haha)
– Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
– Vanille Patisserie
– Joy Yee’s
– the Barrelhouse Flat (if you never tried absinthe, definitely check out this place; beware it was lethal lol)
Places I went to:
– Millenium Park
– Willis Tower/Sky Deck
– Lincoln Park Zoo
– Art Institute of Chicago’s Museum
– Navy Pier
– Signature Lounge at John Hancock Tower (great view of the city along with some drinks)
– Wicker Park (went bar hopping around there haha)
– SoundBar (if you feel like clubbing)
– Michigan Ave. to shop
I feel like I forgot to mention a few places. Oh well!
Enjoy the pictures! Sorry for the long post. I thought about it half way through posting the pictures that I should just break the posts up into 3 for each day I was there, but too late haha. Anyways, ENJOY! 🙂
Good morning Chicago!

Walking around Michigan Ave. and damn that is one fancy ass Burberry store!

Apparently the building on the left with the gold on top has REAL gold on the top of the building lol
In the elevator heading up! Man my ears were kinda hurting and they popped.
Sky Deck Ledge. I was scared to go near it but then my friends and I sat down and took pics haha. Literally felt like I was sitting on top of the world.

Too bad it was closed 😦
Chicago is absolutely and equally as beautiful at night as it is during the day.
Signature Lounge at John Hancock. This was pretty much like Boston’s Top of the Hub at Prudential lol
- Too bad we couldn’t get a seat by the window, but it was still close enough. Enjoyed some drinks before dinner and the beautiful night view of Chicago.
Last night and dinner in Chicago at Girl & the Goat.
Goat Empanadas with romesco and radish-endive slaw. Not too bad.
Escargot Ravioli with bacon and tamarind-miso sauce
Diver Scallops with brown butter kimchee, hazelnut rapini and avocado
Before pic of the pig face: Wood oven roasted pig face with a sunny side egg, tamarind, cilantro, red wine-maple and potato stix. DEFINITELY MUST TRY! By far the best part of a pig I’ve ever had haha.
After pic of the pig face. It’s supposed to be all mixed together so you can get a better taste
Roasted Cauliflower with pickled peppers, pine nuts, and mint. Don’t bother ordering this. It was okay.
Crisp braised pork shank with grilled spring onion kimchee, buttermilk dressing, and naan. MUST TRY. The pork was so tender and BOMB!!!
Don’t remember what this dessert was but there was gelato. It was pretty good!
After dinner we hit up Soundbar. Loved this club. The DJ was actually really good. Had a great time!
VIP status at Soundbar lol
Had to try and bring home some macaroons! 🙂
